Residential Services

Sunbeam House residential services aims to provide people with the level and range of supports that each individual needs to live a full and satisfied life in their community. The level of support provided is determined by the needs of the individual. For instance, some people choose to live with others and staff support while others require nursing care. Also, drop-in support is available for people who choose to live more independently. Short-term stays are available in some locations too.

Six people live in this house with two support staff and one person lives in an attached apartment. It is situated very close to the centre of Bray town which is an ideal location for community activities.

Abbey Manor

Abbey Manor is located in the community of Arklow. The six people who live here all have different life expectations. The majority of them have come from the local area. Each person is encouraged and supported with their everyday needs and goals.

We are very lucky with our location in Arklow town. All services are available, with most just a short walk away. People make regular trips to the shopping centre, pubs and other services in the town and enjoy using public transport.

Applewood

There are 4 people living in Applewood with staff support in the heart of Greystones. One client lives in an attached apartment independently. People avail of public transport and enjoy all the amenities in greystones.

Arklow Community Group

Arklow Community Group comprises of people living alone or with families within the local communities of Arklow, Rathdrum, Aughrim and Ballycoog.

All of these people are supported individually in all aspects of everyday living. Such as social and practical skills, self advocacy and having fun with the aim to build condence to live independently in the community. People receive individual support in areas of daily living depending on the needs and wishes of the person.

Bellavista

Bellavista is a large house situated in a picturesque neighbourhood in Bray. Six people currently live here and are keenly involved within their community. This house has close ties with Drumcooley

Drumcooley

Drumcooley is a smaller house with three people currently living there. Nevertheless the house is busy with independence and community involvement the focus.

Dunavon

Dunavon is a nurse-led unit situated in Rathdrum. It provides twenty-four hour care for eleven people with signicant disabilities.

Dunavon provides services such as art classes, physiotherapy and sensory stimulation. The residents participate in community life in Rathdrum. Daytime, evening and weekend activities take place to suit the dierent needs and interests of each individual.

Hall Lodge

Eleven people live in Hall lodge in Ballyraine, Arklow. This is a nurse-led unit where the staff team provide a high level of care and support. All service-users attend the day service at Glenvale nearby. There is a respite service available within the unit.

Helensburgh

Helensburgh is well-situated in the heart of Greystones. The house is adapted to cater for older people and currently eight people live there with full staff support. People are fully supported to enjoy community life and day-to-day activities.

Kilcarra

Kilcarra is located in a rural setting between Arklow and Avoca. The setting is very tranquil with amazing views of the sea and countryside.

Three people live permanently in this house and there are two places available for respite/short-term stays. The bungalow offers the real comforts of home together with providing the necessary staff supports and facilities to meet the needs of the residents.

Maranatha

Six people live in Maranatha near the village of Shankill with a team of support staff. People enjoy an active life in the wider community such as voluntary work, a variety of paid employment and also attend day services.

Parknasilla

Parknasilla is located in the centre of Bray. There are six people living here with staff support.

People are involved in a wide range of activities in the community. Some of these include Hill-walking, Aqua-aerobics, Horse-riding, Going to the Gym and table-tennis. All of the residents are working part-time and some are involved in voluntary work in the community.

Pathways

Pathways is a residential service with three main facets:

  • Home-support - where peoples needs are supported in their own family or rented property through regular staff visits.
  • Respite (Suaimhneas)- where people can stay for short or extended breaks with full sta support.
  • Monitored housing - SHS has a number of bedsits available for renting. Support is personalised in conjunction with family, friends and the community.

 

Ros Mhuire

Ros Mhuire is a bungalow situated in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow. There are six people living here who are actively involved in a wide variety of activities in their local community.

Ros Mhuire has a small staff team who encourage residents to make their own decisions and promote independence and self advocacy. Everyone who lives here enjoys social outings, community perticipation and seeing their families regularly.

Rosanna Gardens

Rosanna Gardens is located in Ashford. There is a high level of support for people to enjoy a wide variety of activities in the community. It is divided into three self-contained, purpose-built units and can accommodate up to sixteen people.

1 and 2 Sugarloaf

1 and 2 Sugarloaf is located in a housing estate in the suburbs of Bray.

Each person receives unique and varied support. Some individuals are working towards living in semi independent environments in the future while others depend on closer assistance.

85 and 86 Sugarloaf

85 and 86 Sugarloaf is located in a housing estate in Bray.

Seven people of varying ages live in the house along with their dog 'Connie' and fish 'Elmo'. The environment in Sugarloaf is one of support, stability and care.

Valleyview

Valleyview is two semi-detached bungalows situated in Rathdrum.

It is home to fifteen elderly people and the emphasis is on relaxation and enjoyment. This is a nurse-led unit where the staff team provide a high level of care and support. The residents of Valleyview participate in all aspects of community life in Rathdrum. Daytime, evening and weekend activities take place to suit the different tastes and interests of each individual.

Vevay Close

Vevay Close comprises six self-contained apartments surrounding a courtyard with on-site staff support. These units offer an opportunity for adults to live semi independently with staff support appropriate to each persons needs.

Those living there are supported to acquire new experiences and to reach their full potential. Staff endeavour to respect each persons individuality and provide advice & supports as needed.

Villa Maria

Villa Maria is a house in the centre of Bray. There is a nursing and social care team dedicated to enhancing the lives of the people living there.

It caters for people with a signicant level of disability. The focus of the unit is based on a "choice table" from which people can choose their daily activities and routines.
